Creating a Personalized LinkedIn URL

If you want to be found in your job search, you will need a LinkedIn profile and that profile needs a personalized URL. If you leave your profile as LinkedIn has it, it will be full of unnecessary letters and numbers.

Personalizing your profile is easy and once you do it, you can copy it onto your resume.

Here's how:

   1. Go to your Profile Page.
   2. Bring your cursor to your current URL (found under your photograph) and a gear will     appear. Tap the gear.
   3. Where it says “Enhance your personal brand by creating a custom URL for your LinkedIn public profile” you will see the blue edit pencil.
   4.  Create your personalized URL; it is usually your full name and perhaps a number.
   5. Click Save.
